Section drawings can provide detailed information about specific sections of the pool design, ensuring that suppliers and on-site fitters have the correct information for a successful project. Section drawings can also be used to create a visual guide for the build team, highlighting any potential problems or areas of concern.

Pool plant room schematics are an essential part of pool design and construction. They show the location of the pool's filtration equipment, pumps, and other mechanical components. Pool plant room schematics also help pool builders to understand the pool's layout and dimensions, allowing them to create a pool that meets the specific requirements of the project.

Pool Types

NIVEKO Skimmer Invisible 3
Step 1 skimmer

Skimmer

A skimmer pool is also known as a freeboard pool. In this type of pool the water sits approx. 100mm below the edge of the pool. So there is a gap between the top of the pool and the water. A skimmer will usually be installed in this gap, which will draw water from the surface of the pool and circulate it back into the main body of water.

Step 1 overflow

Deck Level

A deck level pool, also known as an overflow pool, is a type of swimming pool in which the entire perimeter is surrounded by an overflow channel. The water line is level with the edge of the pool giving that high-end unique design and overflows into this channel. The channel is typically covered with plastic grating or with tiles or stone for a luxury finish.

Infinity Edge

The term "infinity pool" specifically refers to an "infinite edge pool," "vanishing edge pool," or "negative edge pool." These are pools that have one or more exposed walls (the weir) that are a fraction of an inch shorter than the water level, so water flows into a catch basin below. The result is the illusion of water flowing off the edge of the pool and into the horizon.

FAQs

How do you calculate pool prices?

Our pool cost calculator takes into account a wide range of factors to give you an estimate of how much your pool project is likely to cost.

This includes your desired pool type, pool colour, and stair design, as well as the size of your pool, where it’s to be installed, and whether you opt for a fully automated, semi-automated, or manual filtration system.

Optional extras such as heating, lights, and a cover will also need to be considered when using our pool cost calculator. To receive a more accurate quote for your pool project or to discuss your requirements in more detail, please don’t hesitate to contact our friendly team today.

What is the average price to build a pool in the UK?

Naturally, the price of building a pool in the UK varies depending on what type of pool you’re interested in, its size, and where you want to install it. For example, indoors, outdoors, in the basement, etc.

However, according to Checkatrade figures, a ballpark average for building an indoor swimming pool is £152,500, while an outdoor pool will cost around £105,000. For a more accurate price, please feel free to use our pool cost calculator or get in touch with the Chemsol Group team for a free quotation

How much should I spend on my pool?

How much money you should spend on your pool depends entirely on your personal requirements, budget, and preferences, such as how big you want it to be, and whether you want it to be lit or heated.

It’s important to bear in mind, however, that even post-construction there will be ongoing pool maintenance, repair, and servicing costs.

These costs will be necessary to keep your pool in good working order. For example, according to Checkatrade figures, the average cost of a basic pool service is £70, but you’ll also need to take into account the cost of regularly cleaning the pool coping and keeping the pool topped up with water.

Does a pool add value to your home UK?

With swimming pools being a more luxurious feature, they can increase your home’s appeal to prospective buyers looking for a more opulent property. Building a pool at your UK home can therefore be a great way to ensure it stands out when you put your property on the market.

Whether it will add actual monetary value to your home, however, will depend on the location of your home, the quality of the pool construction, and the overall cost of the project.

What is the cheapest in-ground pool to install?

Looking for a more affordable pool for your home? One of the more budget-friendly pool options is the block and PVC vinyl liner pools. These in-ground pools are constructed using concrete blocks as the base and are then topped with a vinyl liner.
